About This Experience

Glide across the glassy mirror waters of Nalanda reservoir in traditional outrigger canoes (oruwa) as evening light paints the sky in shades of amber and rose. Drift quietly past emergent deadwood trees where hundreds of cormorants, egrets, and darters gather to roost for the night.

"Built upon ancient cascade irrigation foundations, Nalanda reservoir is a serene inland sea framed by the foothills of the Knuckles mountain range. Navigating it by paddle honors the tranquil stillness of the valley."
